How Mobile Software Can Help you
Keep Track of your Diet Program
My name is Miley Jones. I’m an obese mother, but in the last seven months, I’ve tried a lot and the most amazing thing is that I’ve been able to lose 76 pounds. Does that sound too good to be true? It is indeed the plain truth. The journey to such an excellent and milestone achievement wasn’t easy though. It took much of dedication and sacrifice to achieve all that.
Prior to all that, I had been addicted to junk food. I wasn’t the type whop would pass near a pizza outlet or a candy shop without grabbing one. I was literally ‘obsessed’ with food. These are the habits that made me become obese and as much as I didn’t like about my body, there wasn’t much I could do about it. The worst thing is that I work in a bank at a senior managerial position and thus I never have time for any exercises.
All through before I decided that it was time to shed some few pounds, I was numerously advised by my husband and co-workers to observe my diet and enroll for a meal plan that is a miraculous weight loss aid, but I never gave it much thought. I saw nothing wrong with me and I completely ignored these calls for long.
A Healthier Life is Vital for Boosting Confidence
However, 8 months ago an embarrassing situation became an eye-opener. My daughter who was in third grade and been attending dance recital practice at schools and I wanted to be there for her during the dance recital. So that day after picking her at school, we passed by my favorite pizza store before ending home.
Throughout our drive home, she didn’t say much, something I found peculiar; except for answering the basic question like – School was great. I decided to talk to her when we arrived home. Her dad had already arrived. She went top change her school uniform before proceeding to play with her dad while I went to take care of household chores.
By the time dinner was ready, her dad had already helped her with her homework and while at the dinner table, she broke some news which really made me feel embarrassed. She told me that she had a seat-ticket for the dance recital, but she would prefer her dad coming and not me.
“Why sweetheart?” I inquired earnestly. “You know how much I want to be there for the recital.”
“I don’t want other kids to tease me at school.” she calmly replied. “I’d prefer dad coming.” She added after a moment of silence.
I didn’t understand all that. I wanted to be there for her that day, and here she was against it. That’s when she went to explain o us that she was being teased and psychologically bullied at school by other kids because of my plus-size body. This didn’t not only make me feel mad and embarrassed, but it made me feel that I needed to visit the school admin to talk to them about the bullying.
Using Diet and Workout Mobile Apps to Check on Weight
My husband had other thoughts though. He felt that my move won’t attain much because here we were dealing with other kids and they may not restrain from their childish behaviors. He suggested that it was time that I tried changing my lifestyle and embraced losing weight. The key target here was to have our daughter feel confident and happy about me while with other kids than feel as if I was an embarrassment.
My husband and I discussed about the best approach to all this and that when we decided to try using some mobile technology applications to help me with workouts as well as guide me on my dieting and eating habits.
There are many apps available to help with dietary choices and shopping – there is even one for a gluten-free diet.
For the first time in my life I felt that I was ready to be keen at observing my lifestyle; I was ready for change more than ever. I felt really guilty having to be seen as an embarrassment by my daughter. That how I decided to take the challenge and be up for whatever that I was to face.
The workout mobile software that I installed on my mobile phone enables me to schedule, time and plan for my workout. Through the app, I was able to track and my progress and ensure that I adhered to the various workouts that I decided to engage in. I was so much into it that I never missed any schedule as the app always reminded me of my program, unless under unavoidable situation, and even then, I took some time to ensure that I recovered for the lost session.
The diet tracker app enabled tracking my calorie count end ensure that I lived a healthier life by observing my eating habits. I too adhered to the calories count in the foods that I ate and I also was able to substitute junk food with healthier choices.
Seven months down the line, my shape has changed. Though I never got to attend my daughters dance recital, I chose not to, I have boosted her confidence by shedding a few extra pounds and I’m still working on shedding some more.
